100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The R Collection Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the finest vineyards throughout California, with each area adding a unique layer into the overall taste profile. Minimally intrusive winemaking techniques allow the true California terroir to shine through in every glass poured and bottle enjoyed.
Enticing aromas of black cherry, blackberry and spicy notes spring from the glass in this 2019 R|Collection Cabernet Sauvignon. Baked plum, blueberries and elderberry flavors coat the palate. Well-balanced with soft, round tannins the finish is long with a touch of black currant.
Heavy spring rains enriched the soils and delayed bud break by a few weeks. A heat spike in June, followed by warm weather, brought even veraison throughout the vineyards. A cooling trend and touch of rain in mid-September created ideal conditions for the 2019 harvest which is considered a near-perfect vintage.
Raymond Vineyards has over 300 acres of estate vineyards in the Napa Valley, in 3 locations. Each parcel is matched to varietals which perform well in that particular climate and soil type. In addition, the winery maintains long term growing contracts with over 15 Napa Valley growers, allowing the winery to take advantage of the micro-climates and sub-appellations within the Napa Valley.
Today that family tree is entwined with Burgundy’s esteemed Boisset Collection. Jean-Charles Boisset has a history of elevating wineries to new heights, and Raymond Vineyards is no exception.
The winery brought on Napa Valley veteran Winemaker Stephanie Putnam to oversee winemaking, while Vineyard Manager Sophie Drucker has transitioned the estate vineyards to organic and Biodynamic® farming practices, a hallmark of Boisset Collection properties worldwide. The winery has also renovated its tasting room and opened a number of new visitor offerings with a focus on educating consumers and providing a place for them to nurture a passion for wine.
These efforts promise a bright future that will define Raymond Vineyards as one of the signature landmarks of the Napa Valley for years to come.
