100% Grenache produced from the fruit of bush vines planted in 1946 on deep sandy soils, dry grown. Hand-picked, mechanically sorted. 50% whole berries. Remaining berries crushed. Cold soak for 5-6 days. Wild, open Fermentation. Extended maceration in stainless steel tank. No pressings used. The wine was kept on lees in 100% older French oak. No fining, just filtration.
Highly complex and intense red wine with red and black cherries, raspberries, anise with pepper, violets and hints of licorice, dried flowers, cocoa, and cinnamon spice. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, the palate has chewy tannins with plenty of backbone, racy acid and a very long finish. pair it with BBQ, meats in sauce and proteins based dishes.
